- I’ve been sitting with this title for a long time. No Country for Mothers. Say it out loud. You already know it’s true. American moms have asked ourselves for years why motherhood is so hard in this country. Why we’re exhausted. Why we’re blamed. Why nothing ever seems to change no matter how loud we get. So we did something about it. We teamed up with @culturehousemedia and we made a film to find out. No Country for Mothers is the documentary I wish existed before I became a mom. It’s the reckoning we deserve. And it’s finally here. Watch the trailer, then comment MOTHERS below and I’ll send everything straight to your DMs. Screenings are coming to a city near you. Let’s go. 🎬 From @culturehousemedia @momsfirstus @frenchtuckmedia, @bobbie Director: @raeshem Executive Producers: @reshmasaujani @djsinger @mols885 @tanfrance Donna MacLetchie @nicgski @carritwigg Producers: @cynabuni, @ashleyyorkhere Cinematographer: @iseeflicks Editor: @cjflee — 📍 United States of America
- Gender relations in the U.S. are broken — this is how I think we can fix it. It starts by recognizing the big con: that progress is a zero-sum game. Here’s what I mean: “They’ve built a world where men and women don’t talk to each other, don’t see each other, don’t trust each other. Disconnection isn’t just the consequence — it’s the goal. Because if we don’t see each other, we won’t stand up for each other… The story that you’ve been told: that power is a pie and you got to fight for your slice, that’s a lie. They got you so busy fighting a gender war to keep you from fighting a class war.” Congrats again to @harvey_mudd’s class of 2025! — 📍 Harvey Mudd College
- Yesterday, I asked @RealDonaldTrump what he would do to solve America’s #childcare crisis. His response? Incomprehensible at best. At worst? Outrageously offensive to the millions of families drowning in childcare costs.

- It shouldn’t take an economics degree to understand this: parents cannot work without childcare. Which makes childcare an economic issue. But we have spent decades treating it like a personal problem mothers are supposed to solve alone. And then blame them for stepping back from work instead of asking why the system failed them. #NoCountryforMothers breaks down the economic pressures forcing women into impossible choices and why that policy failure keeps getting pinned on moms. Bring your community to help move the conversation forward. Host a watch party or find one near you at the link in bio. 🎥 via @forbes Future of Work Summit 2024 — 📍 United States of America

- 🇺🇸 What if a film could become the starting point for a movement? Reshma Saujani, founder of @girlswhocode and @momsfirstus, shared how “No Country for Mothers” uses documentary storytelling to bring mothers' experiences to the center and create spaces for collective action. More than a film to watch, it becomes a conversation communities can take part in. Where do stories and communities meet? 💬

- Motherhood is still the unfinished business of feminism. Too many mothers are still forced to choose between their families and economic security — without paid leave, affordable childcare, or the support to make either choice sustainable. We made #NoCountryforMothers to show what happens when motherhood is left out of the fight for equality, and why that has to change. The film is not available to stream because it is meant to be watched in community. Find a screening near you (or host one yourself!) at the link in bio. — 📍 United States of America
- We screened part of No Country for Mothers at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health (@columbiapublichealth), and the conversation afterward was exactly why we made this film. Huge thank you to Lauren Houghton, who organized the evening on behalf of Mailman and joined me on the panel. Her Free Time 4 Wellness study is showing what every mom already knows: give a mother free childcare and she finally has time for her own health. Lauren is turning that into data a policymaker or a CEO can’t ignore, and I’m so grateful she brought us into her work. And thank you to Emmy Liss, who leads NYC’s Mayor’s Office of Child Care and Early Childhood Education (@nycchildcare) and is one of the people delivering universal childcare in this city. Listening to her talk about what it actually takes to deliver reminded me that this is completely possible when leaders decide to do it. Many thanks also to Dean Jonathan Mermin for welcoming us, Randi Hutter Epstein for moderating, and the whole Mailman team for a beautiful night. In 2024, the Surgeon General called parental stress an urgent public health issue. How can we expect mothers to take care of their own health when we make it so hard to take care of their kids? Research, policy, and advocacy each get us part of the way there. Put them in the same room and you start to see how we actually win. You can’t stream No Country for Mothers anywhere. The only way to see it is at a community screening, so find one near you or host your own at the 🔗. #NoCountryForMothers — 📍 Columbia University
- This is one of the most dangerous times to be an American woman. And still, we are being told that women are the reason men are struggling. That women have too much power. That pulling women back is the way forward. They want us fighting each other, but #NoCountryforMothers is about seeing through that distraction, and coming together to demand the support mothers, fathers, and families deserve. The film is screening nationwide right now. It is not on streaming or on demand because this conversation is meant to happen in community. Host or find a screening near you at the link in bio. — 📍 United States of America

Reshma Saujani and Adam Grant share a strong alignment on values around gender equality, evidence-based advocacy, and using media for social impact. They're both high-profile figures comfortable with public life, and they both value deep intellectual engagement. However, the geographic distance between NYC and Philadelphia, combined with their demanding and travel-heavy schedules, presents a significant practical challenge. Additionally, Reshma's life as a mother contrasts with Adam's child-free status, suggesting a potential mismatch in daily life experience. While their intellectual and values alignment is compelling, the logistical and lifestyle barriers make this a relationship that would require exceptional effort to sustain, warranting cautious optimism rather than enthusiastic endorsement.

However, their lifestyles—Reshma's frequent travel and media engagement versus Sheryl's intentional rest and quieter routines—create tension that could strain daily rhythms. While both are open to partnership as collaborative force, Sheryl's pivot toward private investing and spiritual grounding may not fully match Reshma's continued high-visibility advocacy, making long-term alignment uncertain despite strong intellectual chemistry.

Gary VaynerchukChairman – VaynerX, CEO – VaynerMedia, Creator – VeeFriends42Gary and Reshma share strong surface alignment as high-profile New York-based advocates who use media to drive social change, and both are assertive, opinionated communicators comfortable in the public eye. However, their deeper needs diverge: Reshma requires a grounded, family-centered partner who shares domestic responsibilities and engages with the emotional weight of advocacy, while Gary's lifestyle demands constant travel, multiple simultaneous ventures, and a relentlessly upbeat energy that may not match her vulnerability-driven approach. The fundamental tension lies in whether Gary can provide the consistent presence and emotional depth Reshma needs, or if his motivational style would feel disconnected from her social justice focus.
